What happens when you have a lot of half skeins and a lot of ribbon yarns in a certain color???
You mix it and match it and knit til you cant knit anymore.
And you end up with:
It's a work in progress...and I'm bored with it already, but it really is going to be a pretty shawl.
How can one knit and blog at the same time? That's the big question of life my friends.

Diane Lockharts sweater
I saw this sweater on The Good Wife and I must have it. How does one find out where TV shows get their clothing?
blog repost
Years ago I had an office in a quaint little area and one of my business neighbors was Mercedes. She owned an amazing yarn store. I was heartbroken when it closed. In fact, most of my yarn I own I got from her closing sale.
Recently our paths crossed and now I follow her on twitter and her amazing blog. She posted this link from a blogger friend of hers and it sums up perfectly the importance of knitting.

Ravelry dot com
I've been a member of Ravelry for about a year and just recently started utilizing it. WOW! It took me a while to get the hang of it but once I began to enter my stash in, I saw that it would link to projects hundreds of others made using that exact same yarn and the pattern if they added that.
So now I am so excited about emptying my stash out! I'm just up to 15 of my yarns added (about 1/3 of my total) and put them in my "que" folder. This is so organized I should get my stash gone in about 2 years. I'm just so excited!

Finished the booties!
I conquered my fear of 3D projects! I used the Shamrock MaryJane pattern and learned a new stitch, the Half double Chain Decrease, and finished it before the deadline!!
I'm so proud of myself. The first one on the right I made while Andrew had his wisdom teeth removed. I was afraid to make the one on the left because it HAD to match. No improvising or missing a stitch. It had to be the exact same. Although it is not...the first one is more pointed and the second one is more rounded, I don't think it will matter when on a baby foot.

Baby Cap and Booties
A weird thing happened last month. Someone on Facebook asked me to make a baby cap and booties for her niece who is arriving in June. Nothing strange about that, but it's someone I'm not too sure how I know. I don't know her in the real world. She also follows me on Twitter and comments on a few of the knitting projects I'd like to make. She offered to pay me for the yarn I purchased, but as I have yarn everywhere in my house I told her I probably had something around here and she could pay me for the cost of the yarn. I found 4 skeins of sinfonia yarn in lilac and one in cream so I used that. Out of one skein I made 2 caps and a pair of booties and the little flowers
So I chose this pattern from Garnstudio.com for the cap and this one for solid lilac booties with some cream picot crochet trim. Sorry I don't have a cute baby to use as a model. You will just have to make do with my hand :)
